His Early Years...
Edison was born in Milan, Ohio and raised in Port Huron, Michigan. And was the youngest of seven. As a kid, he struggled with hearing impairments, and had ADHD. After a few months in school, he dropped out and what was taught reading, arithmetic, and writing by his mother. He was such a curious child that he couldn't help but teach his self. For Jobs he worked as a newsboy then a telegrapher, and his first successful invention was a stock ticker. In 1868, he moved to Boston to become an inventor. In 1869, he moved to NYC and that was when he made $40,000 from some of his inventions to start up his lab in Menlo Park after selling the one he previously had five years later.
